"No Man is an Island" is a song I sang in kindergarten. I had no idea of groups, individuality or community. The theme is labels and learning vocabulary this week. I was talking with students who told me Germany doesn't have the culture of personality that America has. In the U.S., it is said, that everyone will be famous for 15 minutes. With the Internet, I believe the same can be said for anyone in the world! So, now is the perfect time to perfect your English vocabulary. Who knows who you'll be talking to in the future. What are the answers to this weeks exercise? 1. intruder 2. guest 3. international 4. co-worker 5. overachiever 6. critic.
What is the idiom: If the shoe fits, wear it. The answer to the emails. 2. noticeable 3. unimaginable 2nd Email 1. participation/participating 2. permission 3. speech 4. warning. I hope you've enjoyed this week's post! Like the page, if it's helpful.

Carnival ended on Ash Wednesday and I have thoroughly enjoyed the amateur theatre. Peeking into a bank, just outside its doors at the ATM, I saw a couple wearing pig costumes- this was a highlight as well as the parade of waves of humanity pretending to be Martians, princesses, superheroes, anything besides themselves for a while. Some even took a day or two off work, so that they could enjoy the time without a reality check. A reality check for a crowd is a big no-no, everyone is going with the flow, or deep in group think and latching on to one another psychically like lemmings. Here is a video of lemmings if you are unaware of the nature of lemmings. Let me warn you. The first video is of real lemmings jumping off a cliff, so if you are sensitive or have a sensitive stomach I would advise against watching this video. You should watch the second video of the cartoon lemmings. They get stomped on and crushed too, but they continue to smile and carry on in la la land, which could be a metaphor for life and lemmings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOOs8MaR1YM (real lemmings) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZD-LbVjq-Q (cartoon lemmings) Here are the group listings: 1. crush of fans 2. audience 3. mob 4. melee 5. tribe 6. society. I hope you enjoyed this week's Bauenglish lesson. See you again, soon.
